About Us
At Ngā Paharakeke Kōhanga Reo, we are more than just a place of learning—we are a whānau. Our kaupapa is to nurture our tamariki in a warm, supportive, and reo Māori-immersive environment, where they can grow, play, and connect with their language, culture, and whakapapa.
Rooted in the values of aroha, whanaungatanga, and manaakitanga, our kōhanga is a safe and loving space where tamariki and their whānau walk the journey of te reo Māori revitalisation together. Through daily activities, waiata, pūrākau, and play, our mokopuna develop confidence in their identity and a deep connection to te ao Māori.
We are proud to be part of the kōhanga reo movement, ensuring that te reo Māori thrives for generations to come. Nau mai, haere mai – join us in nurturing our tamariki, strengthening our whānau, and uplifting our reo!
Te Mīhana / Our Mission
Kei Ngā Pāharakeke Kōhanga Reo ko te mīhana mo mātou ki te whakarawetia he whare māhana, he wāhi tiakina mo ngā tamariki, mo te whānau katoa kia ako, kia tipu, kia tākaro, kia kōrero te reo Māori tahi tātou.
At Ngā Pāharakeke Kōhanga Reo, our mission consists of providing a warm and nurturing environment where tamariki and whānau can learn, grow, play and kōrero Māori together.
“When the child is secure in their identity, grounded in te āo Māori, they can walk confidently in both worlds. That’s what Kōhanga Reo gives them.”
— Dr Rangimarie Rose Pere
